Our Ruby is a 5-seater ute converted into a clever, compact camper for travellers who want comfort without complexity. It’s built for beaches, gravel roads, and classic New Zealand backcountry routes, offering the freedom of a ute with the convenience of a fully equipped camping setup. The rooftop tent opens in seconds into a spacious sleeping area for up to three people, giving you a comfortable, elevated place to sleep with flyscreens and a weatherproof hardshell for all conditions.

At the rear, the full pull-out kitchen brings everything you need to cook on the road: a two-burner gas stove, sink, 50L fridge/freezer, fresh water container, and a complete kitchen kit with cookware, crockery, and utensils. Bedding, pillows, and towels are all included, so there’s nothing extra to pack. The Trekker also comes with solar power, a leisure battery, outdoor furniture, and a portable toilet, making it ideal for travellers who want an easy, well-equipped base for exploring.

For even more comfort, you can add the Dometic Tailgater Travel Pod. It attaches to the rear of the ute to create shelter from sun or rain while preparing food, can house the toilet for extra privacy, and can stand alone if you need to drive away. Combined with our optional single camping bed, it can even sleep an additional person.
